Welcome to Whitehall Terrace

A Home for Healing, History, and Community

Whitehall Terrace is more than a house — it’s a haven.

Built in 1930 by Richard Wright III, a land developer and heir to the Wright fortune, Whitehall Terrace sits on two acresin the heart of Duke Park, Durham. With six bedrooms, a storied past, and timeless architecture, it holds the potential to become a reclamation, not just a renovation: a home reimagined for healing, gathering, and collective care.

Under the stewardship of Bulltánica, this historic space is being restored not only structurally, but spiritually — becoming a place where the past informs the future, and the community is not just invited, but centered.

Our Goals

To turn Whitehall Terrace into a living ecosystem for:

  • Healing practices rooted in body, land, and lineage

  • Gatherings that center joy, story, food, and ritual

  • Creative and cultural programming for all ages

  • A home where well-being replaces wellness — slow, accessible, and soul-led

What’s Happening Now

We are currently:

  • Restoring the flat rooftop terrace

  • updating and restoring bathrooms (7)

  • Cultivating the gardens and outdoor spaces

  • Hosting summer events like jazz nights by the pool and community dinners

  • Offering workshops in massage, land care, herbal medicine, and somatics

Whitehall Terrace is open to possibility.
And we are building it with the community — not for it.

How to Get Involved

Whether you are a neighbor, a healer, a dreamer, or a builder —
this is a home where your presence matters.

  • Make a gift to support restoration

Why It Matters

In a city transforming too quickly to breathe, Whitehall Terrace is a pause.
A breath.
A home held open.

It is an invitation to slow down, to remember, to restore.

This is not just preservation —
It’s a reclamation of care, culture, and connection.
